Mountain View, California - July 14th 2016
Machine-to-Machine Intelligence (M2Mi) Corporation, a leading supplier of Machine-to-Machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) applications and technologies, including the award winning M2M Intelligence® M2M and IoT cloud application, today announced that it has furthered its partnership with GE by joining the GE Digital Alliance Program.
The M2M Intelligence® application – hosted by and running on GE’s Predix® operating system for the Industrial Internet – provides M2M and IoT device connectivity, provisioning and management. M2M Intelligence® delivers managed M2M global cellular connectivity across over 500 national and regional telcos as well as IoT connectivity through traditional wired and wireless IP networks.
M2Mi also brings advanced cyber security and has recently been awarded a contract by the Department of Homeland Security to build an open source IoT Security Suite based on the company’s years of security expertise. It will be incorporated into M2Mi solutions that can run on the Predix platform. M2Mi solutions also have in-stream analytics, data privacy and provenance, and an M2M and IoT monetization business center all running on GE’s platform.
The GE Digital Alliance Program is the first of its kind aimed at growing the digital industrial ecosystem. As a member of the program, M2Mi will be better able to provide GE’s Predix customers and partners with applications which provide a secure on-ramp for the massively growing number of M2M and IoT devices being used in industry.
M2Mi and GE have worked on projects for a range of customers across various industry verticals, most recently including an Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC) testbed. Within the Smart Airline Baggage Management testbed M2Mi is providing the M2M Intelligence application, running on the Predix platform, to connect and manage edge devices such as smart luggage, airport baggage trucks, scanners and beacons including geo-location and geo-fencing services.
“M2Mi is proud to become a member of the GE Digital Alliance Program, having built a great working relationship with GE, and proud to work with GE on projects such as the IIC testbed” said Geoffrey Barnard, CEO of M2Mi. “Being part of the program will allow us to leverage our strengths in M2M and IoT, and in IoT security, to enhance Predix even further and build even better industrial IoT solutions for our joint customers.”
